Ian Coreth · Principal, TTN Advisory

I started in staffing with a flip phone and a folded sheet of paper.

Early Days

My career began running full-cycle recruitment for PRN post-acute and home care shifts in the Bronx. I carried a flip phone and a small folded list of the clinicians available to work that week, and I picked up at all hours, weeknights and weekends included. It taught me how analog this industry is. Information is fragmented, systems and processes are broken, and communication rarely flows the way it should. Much of that is still true today.

Background

I’m a staffing leader and operator with 10+ years of building the systems, teams, and relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth. I worked my way up through the industry and wore a lot of hats along the way. As they say in staffing, competence is the most dangerous skill you can have.

I recruited and led teams at Maxim, Host Healthcare, and Aya, where I launched a new allied therapy division. At Nomad Health, I helped grow a direct-to-hospital locums marketplace 9x. At NuWest, I built the training, systems, and leadership development that helped scale a small agency into a $450M staffing firm.

I’m at my best inspiring action and alignment across teams. I get everyone behind solutions that meet their people’s needs and the company’s goals, so revenue follows real impact.

How I See Staffing

Health systems are experts in patient care. Where they struggle is on the periphery. I’ve worked at the center of staffing’s love triangle: agency, hospital, and clinician. I understand the mechanics and motivations behind why orders don’t fill, and I know how to get all three aligned on solutions that actually move. That lets me help leaders:

  • See what's realistic
  • Find where technology can reduce cost without compromising the human element
  • Build a workforce model tailored to their needs and goals, while staying mindful of what the rest of the triangle needs

Threading the Needle

In healthcare, you have to balance mission-driven impact with revenue-generating outcomes. It’s a tough needle to thread, but I’ve learned to deliver the right results without compromising the impact I promised. The rule that keeps me balanced came from my father, a chiropractor in private practice for over 40 years: put people first, and success will follow. It has guided my whole career, and it’s what TTN Advisory is built on.

Who I Work With

  • Marketplace and workforce tech companies challenging the status quo in healthcare staffing, modernizing archaic systems and processes, and using technology to enhance the human element, not replace it
  • Organizations helping health systems rethink how they use agencies, deploy technology to drive efficiency, and make the most of the existing labor market
